The Bitch Is Back

I'm now almost 2 months into the total rebuild of my legs. The cold wet winter meant that my worn out knees were painful 24/7 which made proper leg training impossible, but I'm amazed how quickly they are coming back. I'm using lots of cod liver oil and Collagen Plus in my diet and I have invented an entirely new leg training programme based on a "bitching" or "hate the weights" attitude to leg workouts and constant variation so that I only ever do the same exercise once a month.  I've always had good legs, as does anyone coached by Eddie Abbew, but I made a vow not to compete again unless they were at least as good as last year, I am now sure that they will actually be better! Finally, my clothing sponsors have brought out a metal shaker which I have been testing and I am now very happy to recommend, its so much easier to clean than plastic which means that there are no problems with the protein smells associated with plastic shakers.

Kiss The Bride

Yesterday's victory in the first test between the Lions and Australia is not something to be celebrated.  The harsh yet simple fact is that if Halfpenny was kicking for Australia then they would have won by a distance.  Sexton was sublime and inspirational as was expected and it's just as well!
I spent a couple of days last week in Stratford upon Avon for the wedding of my good friends Glenn and Leanne.  I've been friends with Leanne for the last 4 years on her journey of self improvement.  She is an amazing person and as you can see she is so beautiful.  Glenn does my tattoos and has become a good friend too so I was very happy when they asked me to drive my Aston Martin as the wedding car.  A great time was had by all and I wish them love and happiness forever.

Posterboy

I was pleased to learn this week that my clothing sponsors "Repraw" have been accepted by "The Gym group" to offer promotions to their members.  Repraw have created posters like this one for placement around the The Gym group premises. I know that I look miserable but they wanted a serious look ok?!  Also this week I did a website interview for an Hungarian company called "Aesthetics Hungary" this link will take you to it
http://aestheticshungary.blogspot.hu/2013/06/kevan-wilson-declares-to-aesthetics.html They were particularly pleased with my training philosophy as it is different to most of the stuff that you read these days but it's the way that I believe people should train for the best results. I'm happy to say that just about everyone that I'm coaching these days totally agrees with me and they are all getting great results too!

Pump It

I always enjoy coaching at other gyms and this week I have to say that I was impressed when I did some work at Pumped Gym in Stevenage, Herts.  The gym is well equipped, is superb for whatever level you are training at and as you can see from the photo, the the t - shirts are pretty good too! The place was designed by gym guru Mike Williams, who I spent some time with after work in the cafe area enjoying some chicken and rice (for a change!) Mike has so many great bodybuilding stories from all the years back to the sixties and he is also extremely knowledgeable about the sport so all in all I had a brilliant day. On a different subject, I was not surprised to hear about the "prism programme", whereby people lives are monitored through such things as social media servers, I wonder if the authorities are as fed up as I am with wannabes posting pictures of their food and telling everyone how they are going to "smash it" in the gym.  It's called bodybuilding not body smashing!

The Lion Sleeps Tonight

Another busy week so no change there!  The promo video for the TV series has been made and will hopefully be aired in a couple of months time.  We are also planning to make a DVD of this years show prep and have it available for purchase by Christmas.  Show prep is hard enough and having it all filmed will make it even tougher but I'm looking forward to the challenge.  My initial plans are to compete on September 22nd to try to retain the UKBFF Midlands title that I won last year  as a warm up for the British finals on October 19th, after that I will see how I feel before making any further competition decisions.  Talking of challenges, I can't wait for the British Lions tour of Australia.  The warm up match against the Barbarians was encouraging, the Lions are strong in every department and if they can run each game through Mike Phillips and Johnny Sexton then I predict a series victory.
